Common questions
What is GFR and what does it measure?
Glomerular Filtration Rate estimates how well your kidneys filter blood. Normal GFR is 90+ mL/min. Below 60 may indicate chronic kidney disease. It is calculated from creatinine, age, sex, and race.
When should I be concerned about my GFR?
A GFR below 60 for three or more months suggests chronic kidney disease. Below 15 may indicate kidney failure. Always discuss lab results with your healthcare provider for proper interpretation.
