How do I calculate the slope between two points?
Slope (m) = (y₂ − y₁) ÷ (x₂ − x₁). For example, between points (1, 2) and (4, 8): slope = (8−2)/(4−1) = 6/3 = 2.
What does a slope of zero or undefined mean?
A slope of zero means a horizontal line (no rise). An undefined slope (division by zero) means a vertical line. Positive slopes go up-right; negative slopes go down-right.
