Common questions
How do I calculate horsepower from torque?
HP = Torque (lb-ft) × RPM ÷ 5,252. For example, 300 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM = 300 × 4000 ÷ 5252 ≈ 228 HP.
What is the difference between HP and torque?
Torque is the rotational force the engine produces. Horsepower is how quickly that force is applied (power = torque × speed). Torque determines pulling strength; HP determines top speed and acceleration.
